Join Us at the Inaugural “It’s Still Me” Event!

Looking for a fun-filled day for the whole family? The Kiwanis Club of London invites you to their inaugural It’s Still Me event at Kiwanis Park this Saturday, October 5th. This FREE community gathering promises a day packed with exciting activities, games, entertainment, and prizes that everyone can enjoy!

But there’s more than just fun on the agenda. The event will kick off with a sponsored Walk/Run/Roll, encouraging people of all abilities to participate in the way that suits them best. Whether you’re strapping on your running shoes, rolling along, or cheering from the sidelines, your involvement makes a difference!

So, What Does “It’s Still Me” Mean?

The It’s Still Me initiative is about fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the experiences of individuals who use assistive devices. Often, the use of a wheelchair, walker, or other support can shift the way people are perceived by society. However, individuals are still the same vibrant, capable people they’ve always been. The event’s core message is that using an assistive device doesn’t change who someone is at their core—it’s still them!

This initiative came to life from a strong desire to build more inclusive community spaces and to share knowledge about the diverse organizations that support people in London. It’s an opportunity to learn about local resources, hear personal stories, and engage with others in meaningful ways.

Discover Accessible Sports with the Possibilities Project

One of many highlights of the day will be the Try-It Day activities hosted by the Possibilities Project Plus, an initiative that connects people with free and low-cost assistive devices in Ontario. Through this, families will get a chance to explore accessible sports like martial arts and rugby.

Whether you or your loved ones use assistive devices or not, this event is for everyone. So come out, enjoy a beautiful day, and join in celebrating the spirit of inclusion, community, and fun!

See you at Kiwanis Park, this Saturday at 10:00 AM!
